BELINDA Eugene Hanham from Trowbridge has died aged 77.

The yoga teacher and finance officer for the social services died on Tuesday, April 8 at her home.

She had stomach cancer and had been cared for by staff at Dorothy House hospice.

Mrs Hanham travelled round the world to discover yoga and made many international friends in countries such as Holland and Switzerland.

Belinda was the youngest daughter of Maggie and Percy Brown and was brought up in Hilperton Marsh.

She became Butterfly Queen at the age of seven and felt very privileged to wave to the Trowbridge crowds from the balcony of the Town Hall.

She married Ken and they had two children Trevor, 53, and Jane Milton, 52, who now lives in Westbury.

Mrs Milton said: "After losing Ken in 1975, Belinda moved on to a very successful career and also began travelling the world and pursuing her passion for yoga. She grew into the independent free spirit we all know and love today.

"She helped so many people though her massage and counselling and became the much-loved friend everybody turned to when in need.

"Belinda loved her family and delighted in an extremely close relationship with her two grandchildren Shaun, 25, and Stephanie, 22, who were so much part of her life.

"She sadly became ill recently and after a hard struggle she decided to move on. She was in her home that held years of happy memories surrounded by her family."
