Celebrating
BIRTH: Louisa May Heathcote
BABY Louisa made things hard work for her mother, who needed to be moved to the Royal United Hospital in Bath during labour.
Louisa is the first child for Paul and Diana Heathcote, and the proud mother was full of praise for Trowbridge Hospital, where she returned after giving birth.
She said: "They have just been brilliant here. They teach you everything that you need to know about babies and I would like to give a big thank-you to all the staff.
"The labour started off OK. I used the birthing pool, which was fantastic and I would recommend that to anyone.
"But Louisa wasn't ready to arrive so I had to go to Bath and have a caesarean section in the end."
Mrs Heathcote didn't have any strange cravings during her pregnancy, but she did find the time to indulge herself:
"I didn't have any cravings, but I did have lots of heartburn so I took full advantage of that by having lots of cakes," she said.
Mr Heathcote, who was present at the birth, is a very proud father.
"Paul was my birthing partner and he was fantastic. He is so proud," Mrs Heathcote said.
"He got home from work yesterday and was in such a rush to come and see her that he had his t-shirt on inside out when he came into hospital.
"I can't wait to go home to show her off to all the family."
