IT was the decade when Britain became cool again. Remember Cool Britannia? We had the coolest music, the coolest TV and we even had a cool new Prime Minister.

So much has changed in a relatively short time. Tony Blair has since left office under the cloud of the Iraq War while British TV is now a showcase for the best American programmes. And spare a thought for Britney Spears, right. Once a role model for her generation, she has become cannon fodder for the paparazzi in the US.
