Winter workouts
Wrap up warm and beat the winter blues with some exercise
1. Although it's tempting to drive everywhere when it's cold, walking on a dry day is a great way to get fit and also have some fresh air, which will improve your mood.
2. If you can't bear to leave the gym, find a treadmill close to a window, so you get the benefits of daylight while you workout.
3. Although surfing is usually considered to be a summer sport, if you don a winter wetsuit, hat and boots you can take to the waves any time of year.
4. If getting to the coast is a problem get out in the garden - raking up leaves and clearing the shed are a good workout.
5. For those who are venturing abroad a skiing holiday is a brilliant winter workout, as is a break hiking in Wales or any other type of adventure holiday.
