LOUISE Knox, 36, has been press officer at West Wiltshire District Council since January 2000. But she is leaving the role this week to take up a new post as media and communications manager at Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Before moving to the district council she spent 10 years working as a journalist in Somerset and Devon. She lives in Trowbridge and is a founder member of the Wessex Mead Rotary Club.
How would your best friend describe you?
Hopefully good fun and loyal, but rather too cynical on occasion.
Where would you recommend for a great day or evening out?
Red or White in Trowbridge is a fantastic restaurant and the wine tastings are fab! And best of all for me, it's within walking distance of home.

What do you do for fun?
I'm a member of Wessex Mead Rotary Club, so do loads of different activities with that - from community things like selling poppies to events like our now famous Bavarian night.
Otherwise it's the usual - reading, watching films, and trying to play badminton.
Describe your most vivid dream.
I have a nasty habit of dreaming real life, so I think I've woken up, got up and am on my way to work - then I actually wake up and realise I've got to do it all again, this time for real.
Who in the public eye do you most respect and why?
The BBC journalist Alan Johnson - his reports from Gaza were always incisive and non-sensational, and how he handled his detainment and all the media interest after he was freed was astonishing.
What is your biggest regret?
I try not to have regrets, but I do wish that I'd had a gap year and travelled - I've seen very little of the world, but there's still time to put that right.
What is your favourite film or TV programme and why?
I adore the TV show MASH, even though it's 30 years old now. It's the perfect combination of comedy and drama, and I wish I could be as witty as Hawkeye. Top film is Some Like It Hot, it never fails to cheer me up.
What makes you sad?
When friends have problems that you can't help with, and when you see just how little people in other parts of the world have compared to us.
Describe your perfect day?
A long lie-in, breakfast at the Lock Inn at Bradford on Avon and a walk along the canal, time to read the Sunday papers, then an afternoon in the sunshine watching cricket - oh, and a glass of Baileys before bed!
