SUE Glanville, 56, was born in Devon and moved to Bradford on Avon with her husband John after they were married in 1972. She was a teacher at Trinity School, now St Laurence School, and after a break to have her two sons she went back to teach religious education and English at the school.
She left in 2004 to train to become a life coach and facilitator and set up Journeying - a walking and singing company with Candy Verney. Their next trip is to the Himalayas in April and this summer there is a trip to Dartmoor in Devon. She is also an assistant pastor at Bearfield Church.
How would your best friend describe you?
My best friend says that I am adventurous, fun-loving, enthusiastic, friendly, a bit of a rebel and too busy.
Where would you recommend for a great evening out?
I would recommend going to Singing in the Round on a Thursday night at Wiltshire Music Centre, led by Candy Verney. I meet lovely people there, laugh a lot, sing very inspiring and uplifting songs and often finish off at the Dog and Fox for a few drinks.

What do you do for fun?
I like being outdoors, walking, surfing, and sailing. Also I like dancing, telling stories and jokes and making up songs to play on my guitar.
Describe your most vivid dream.
I do have some strange ones. I often dream that I am purchasing or living in a property in which I keep discovering new rooms and treasures. In one dream a small girl came up to me and said believe and be kind'. Pretty good advice I think!
Who in the public eye do you most respect and why?
I respect the founders of the Eden Project, which I visited last week. I admire the imagination, vision and determination to turn a disused clay site into such a beautiful example of the transformation that is possible when we work together.
What is your biggest regret?
I don't really have any regrets. I like Raymond Carver's poem:
And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth.
What is your favourite television programme?
On TV, I like Spooks and Lark Rise to Candleford and I like programmes about the natural world and different cultures. Things like Medicine Men Go Wild and Ben Fogle's Extreme Dreams (although he is a bit of a pain!).
What makes you sad?
What makes me sad is my husband John being blind and all the suffering in the world.
Describe your perfect day.
On a large yacht with friends and family on a sunny but breezy day sailing to the River Yealm in Devon. Catching a few bass over the sandbar. Sharing tales and delicious food, singing accompanied by guitars, drinking red wine into the night. Looking at the stars and being gently rocked to sleep on the yacht. Perfect!
