Constituency changes at next election

West Wiltshire voters will find themselves in a new parliamentary constituency when the next General Election is held.

The Boundary Commission for England has created five new constituencies for the county of Wiltshire, which has led to the existing constituencies of Westbury and Devizes being abolished.

West Wiltshire is now split between the two new constituencies of Chippenham and South West Wiltshire. A final consultation on which local wards will belong to which area was completed in September; however, it is likely to be as follows: Chippenham constituency - eleven wards from North Wiltshire, plus the following eight wards from West Wiltshire: Atworth, Whitley & South Wraxall; Avonside; Bradford on Avon North; Bradford on Avon South; Manor Vale; Melksham East; Melksham Spa; Melksham Without.

South West Wiltshire constituency - five wards from Salisbury district, plus 16 wards from West Wiltshire: Dilton; Ethandune; Mid Wylye Valley; Shearwater; Summerham; Trowbridge & North Bradley; Trowbridge & Southwick; Trowbridge Central; Trowbridge East; Trowbridge North East; Trowbridge North West; Trowbridge South West; Warminster East; Warminster West; Westbury Ham; Westbury Laverton.
