Bath Literature Festival

Bath Flower Show, May 3-5
In its 22nd year, this established show will once again be held over the May Bank Holiday weekend in the picturesque Royal Victoria Park. Attractions include floral art, food, crafts and children's events.

Bath International Music Festival, May 21 - June 7

Now one of the UK's premier jazz and classical music festivals, this year the festival celebrates its 60th birthday and features performances by the London Symphony Orchestra, McCoy Tyner Trio, the Bulgarina Voices Choir and Bellowhead. Bath Fringe Festival.

May 23 - June 8

The successful Fringe runs alongside the International Music events with a programme of visual art, street theatre, comedy, cabaret and music. For more information, see www.bathfringe.co.uk

Taste of Bath, July 3-6

The second Taste food festival will be held this year in Royal Victoria Park and features local restaurants and over 80 local producers. For ticket information, see www.channel4.com and navigate to the Taste section.

International Guitar Festival, July 25-August 9

Celebrating all types of guitar music, this renowned festival features performances and workshops across Bath. Visit www.igf.org.uk for details.

Jane Austen Festival, September 19-28

Special events to celebrate one of Bath's most famous residents include a Regency parade and ball, walks, talks and film events. See www.janeausten.co.uk/festival for information.

Bath Film Festival, November, Dates to be confirmed.

In the past this festival has secured exclusive showings, previews, art house and documentary films. Filmmakers also give talks and hold-workshops in cinemas across Bath, especially the Little Theatre. Keep updated at www.bathfilmfestival.org

Mozartfest, November

Dates for 2008 are still to be confirmed, but this is one of the most intense Mozart festivals in the UK and attracts big names to the city. For updates visit www.bathmozartfest.org.uk

Bath Christmas Market, November 27 - December 7

Held in the Abbey Courtyard and surrounding area, the Christmas Market heralds in Bath festive celebrations. The wooden huts and mulled wine stores create an excellent seasonal atmosphere where you can pick up handmade gifts and decorations. Visit www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk for details.
