I congratulate St Laurence School, Bradford on Avon’s Legal Team on winning the Gloucester Mock Trial competition; their feat in both successfully prosecuting and defending the same client certainly demonstrates their advocacy skills.
However, it does cause us to reflect on how effective is the adversarial system in establishing justice.
I should like to have put the following question to George Carmen (celebrity QC famed for his success rate): which is more important, to win the case, or for justice to be done?
Perhaps the St Laurence team might like to ponder this.
Jack Marsh, Horse Road, Hilperton.
