I have just thanked a neighbour for cutting the extensive grassed play area behind Cornbrash Rise. I hope that this disclosure will not offend health and safety regulations. Needless to say previously it looked like a meadow.
Last Wednesday I visited the market in Trowbridge. I managed to speak to a council official about the disgusting state of the roadway and, to my surprise, was told it was down to Balfour Beatty.
My only regret is that I do not have shares in Balfour Beatty. Why indeed should they be criticised for failing to keep the grassed areas and streets in a decent condition when the council evidently can’t be bothered to enforce the terms of the contract, assuming however there are any? But, hey, it’s only the council taxpayers’ money that is being wasted.
