On June 28 we held a garden party with a cake stall, tombola, raffle, handmade cards, craft table and barbecue to raise funds for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign. This event was also in memory of our daughter Nicola who died of cancer in March 2013; June 28 would have been her 30th birthday. At 12.01pm (the time she was born) we marked the occasion with birthday cake and Nic’s favourite, Malibu and coke.
Despite weather ranging from sunshine to torrential rain everybody had a good time and approx. £1,255 was raised on the day, with further donations still to come.
Thanks go to all our helpers, everyone who attended and also the businesses who generously donated prizes and supported us: Asda, Autoline, Beechfield House, Costa, Countrywide, Edwards Stationary, Factory Shop, Gompels, Halfords, Kings Arms, Leekes, Lidi, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s, Shaw Country Hotel, Waitrose and Wellsway Mini.
