Dear resident of The Common in Holt, you will know who you are.
You have again spoilt a beautiful afternoon on Saturday, July 5, and caused the cancellation of our family party, by lighting a bonfire and burning what would appear to be wet cuttings or similar which produced a very large continuous cloud of choking smoke.
This affected your neighbours and a number of residents in Hawcroft. This is not the first time that you have spoilt our enjoyment and your near neighbours’ enjoyment and I thank the person who called the fire brigade.
I sincerely hope that they charged you a fee for being a nuisance to them and also to the people in your area. We had to run around closing windows and taking our pets inside as all of us were choking badly.
Perhaps in future you will have the good grace to dispose of your garden waste in the same manner as everyone else. You have a green bin which is emptied every two weeks and on the occasions where you have more than you can put in this bin, why not go to the tip? There is one in Trowbridge and one in Melksham so there is no excuse for this very un-neighbourly activity.
I believe it is very anti-social and perhaps you should try to imagine what it would be like if you arranged a celebration party in your own garden with a number of good friends and relatives just to abandon everything through someone else’s selfish actions.
Name and address supplied.
