Will someone in authority please stop the grass cutters from cutting the litter on roadside grass verges and other grassed areas?
The result is broken pieces of glass with jagged edges, contorted pieces of metal cans with jagged edges, pieces of plastic with jagged edges, pieces of polystyrene, pieces of cardboard and paper, all left in the soil/grass: harmful to wildlife and humans.
Along Hilperton Drive, like many other roadside verges, litter is regularly thrown out of vehicle windows, and has previously been removed before any grass cutting takes place. Now, it is left to accumulate and it looks horrendous.
The question of litter needs to be addressed. If powerless to act, at the very least, the council (and schools) should be organising regular community litter pick-ups. Then it is seen as everyone's problem and pressure would be placed on the offenders to desist.
