The Wessex Midsummer Vintage Gathering over the weekend of June 21 and 22 was blessed with wall-to-wall sunshine, close to 4,000 vintage exhibits were on show at Semington including a variety of living history displays, birds of prey, and the only Mann patching steam roller known to exist anywhere in the world.

In our steam section we had an Aveling and Porter Steam Roller that once worked with Barns Brothers – threshing and road laying contractors, of Southwick.

The main aim of our yearly event is to raise funds for The Children's Hospice South West. The committee of the Wessex Midsummer Vintage Gathering would like to extend their sincere thanks to the following companies for their continued support: EJ Shanley, Trowbridge; Wessex Water; Asda Super Stores Ltd and all the local firms that advertise in the events programme.

We would very much like to attract more local people to come and join the organising committee, it is not an arduous task, also any local company that would like to be associated with the event and help us support the life-limited children of The Children's Hospice South West.
