I would like to thank the retailers and sponsors following a very successful South West in Bloom Awards hosted by Trowbridge on September 18 at the Civic Centre.
They donated prizes for a raffle held at the Mayor’s Civic Reception on September 17 in the Council Chamber, where over 90 guests were entertained including many visiting mayors from towns in the South West. The sum of £81.70 was raised for my chosen charity, Dorothy House, which will be added to the final amount raised during my mayoral year and presented next May.
The two-day event, which was the largest attendance yet for the South West in Bloom awards, with over 470 in attendance, was a great opportunity for the town council to show off our county town, and encourage visitors from far and wide to Discover Trowbridge.
