I read Trudy Houke's letter in last week’s Wiltshire Times with surprise and frustration. The reason: there is help available locally for young people looking for work.
Funded by the Trowbridge Area Board and completely free to young people in the Trowbridge Area, they consist of a series of workshops designed to help them enter the world of work. The workshops look at their skill base to help them assess their future careers, advice from prospective employers, how to approach interviews and fill in application forms, giving them the best chance possible of projecting their assets.
All the relevant agencies are well aware that these workshops exists, but do not seem to be giving the relevant information to the young people who would benefit from them. Perhaps this letter will be the catalyst needed to get the workshops used to their full potential.
