As Scotland is to have maximum devolution in the next couple of years, is it not time for English regions to have proper devolution as well?

A Wessex Regional Assembly should be considered as a serious option. What may be suitable for London may not be suitable for Hampshire, Wiltshire or Dorset. Hampshire was named as a county in the Anglo-Saxon chronicle as long ago as 757 AD. I would urge readers to write to their MPs and county councillors in support of such a proposal.

Secondly, I would like to start a debate on the issue of whether individuals should sit on more than one council at the same time. Under the present system, is there not a risk of dual loyalty and conflicts of interest?
