Would our MPs Mr Hames and Dr Murrison please explain to pensioners in Wiltshire who are on a basic low state pension of £138 per week, when we will catch up with the rest of Europe.
We are told we are one of the richer countries of Europe but our pensioners get on average 40 per cent less than other countries. The International Longevity Centre-UK study shows Britain has one of the lowest state pensions in Europe.
Pensioners have worked 50 years, seen military service and paid for their pensions. Most of them are still working due to this shabby treatment. This is something we all really want to hear.
