On behalf of the Lions Club of Bradford on Avon I extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages for their tremendous support yet again for our Christmas Float appeal during December.

Through the three weeks leading up to Christmas your generosity enabled us to collect £3,550, a new record, and this has helped us to deliver about l80 Christmas food parcels and potted plants to some of the less fortunate members of our community. The remaining money will be used to support other charitable causes, locally, nationally and internationally.

We could not have achieved this superb result without the help and support of a number of other organisations and individuals to whom we are indebted, namely: Cumberwell Park Golf Club for the storage and garaging of Father Christmas’ float; our superb drivers Simon Giles, Ron Plum and Ken Price; all those who helped with the collection, especially our Friends of Bradford on Avon Lions; everybody who came to join us at our Carols Round the Tree on Christmas Eve and, of course, Father Christmas himself.

Thank you all once again, and our best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.

Lion Richard Bloom, Treasurer, Bradford on Avon Lions Club.
