It's very clear to most of us that the state of the NHS is to be used as a political football into the run-up to the General Election. Despite the hard work of the dedicated staff, it’s clear that the NHS is in total meltdown in Bath and Wiltshire.
I just can’t understand why none of the main political parties here in Wiltshire have come up with the obvious answer. Here in west Wiltshire we still have our empty cottage hospitals, which were closed against the wishes of local residents and health staff.
With the will, and cash investment, these hospitals could be opened at the drop of a hat, giving us dozens of extra hospital beds and restoring our much-missed and loved A & E Departments.
Just maybe this solution is too obvious.
Cllr Terry Chivers, Independent, Melksham Without North, Eden Grove, Whitley, Melksham.
