An 80-year-old carer in Trowbridge had an appointment at the RUH. She faced a round-trip taxi fare of £50 to get to her first appointment. Connect2 made it possible for her to attend her appointment on time, travel safely in the company of others and be charged a reasonable fare for a door-to-door service.
Cllr Horace Prickett (Conservative) must have felt sick enough himself to be admitted to hospital when he helped announce the cut to Connect2.
The most vulnerable people in our communities are being punished for needing a public service.
Community Transport and Connect2 are no longer a safety net for people. The safety net is being pulled away before our eyes.
Marie Hillcoat (South West Wilts Green Party), Cockhill, Trowbridge.
