It is always interesting when researching local history to work out the reasons behind the names of roads and streets. The suggestions made by David Feather are therefore commendable and worthy of further consideration.
I have always felt that County Way is too long a road, with its various sections, to have just one name and would suggest that the length from the Longfield roundabout to Bradley Road could become Magna Carta Rise. The only slight disagreement with Mr Feather is The Park. Historically it is of course really The People's Park, a name rarely heard these days, but equally I do not feel De Bohun Park would be readily used.
One more suggestion. Love or hate it, the Hilperton Relief Road will soon be with us. To commemorate the reign of our Queen, perhaps the road could be named Queen Elizabeth Drive? This would go nicely with Victoria Road, largely parallel, and also named after another long reigning and beloved monarch.
