Over the past few years, I have been in awe of the amazing flower displays in and around the town, in the park and various islands, a beautiful show of colour of hanging baskets, pyramid cascades, in fact, arrangements everywhere. And the flower beds in the park would be fitting for any royal garden.
I’m sure I am not the only one in our community to see such a splendour of colour and we all take these things for granted.
Behind the scenes, on cold dark winter days, gardeners are preparing seeds and plants, unaware what joy they bring us all, as a firework display of flowers.
My wife and I would like to join with others to thank them for the scene we see made possible months later in spring and summer.
As a footnote, could we have a photograph in the Wiltshire Times of these faceless gardeners, unseen heroes of colour.
