The Emperor of Japan appears on the news expressing regret for the Second World War. This makes me think; I do not remember Germany, now the most powerful country in Europe, expressing regret for its deaths and murder.
I left London as a five-year-old evacuee. I often wonder what my life would have been if I had stayed; there must have been millions like me involved in war at a very early age. I did well enough, I passed my exams, retired on a good pension as a cartographer, but of course many may not have done well and may be in poverty now.
So Germany, say sorry.
