RE: THE story, Wiltshire Times, Friday, September 4, 'Villagers support annual fruit and vegetable show'.
This show was not organised by the allotment society, they were not involved in any way, shape or form, and never have been; although as far as I am aware, one plot holder entered produce this year.
The show was organised and run by the people of the village, as it always has been. It involves a good deal of hard work, but it is rewarding to see the achievements of the gardeners, and be able to compare results and tips over a cuppa.
It is a shame that the allotment association does not join in, they could learn so much and be in a position to compete in the show with the gardeners.
It is hardly fair to credit someone who has done nothing, when other people have worked so hard.

DUE TO a production error, the corrected version of this story only appeared online and not in print. The show was organised by the Hilperton Village Hall Committee and villagers and we apologise to them for the error.
