I am sure we all have the greatest sympathy for the refugees fleeing from Syria and other dangerous places but one must be careful to distinguish between true refugees and those taking advantage of the situation.
The death of a small boy from drowning is tragic but the fact that the family had been living in Turkey for three years and the father had a job there makes one wonder why they waited until now to make their “escape”.
It has also been stated in the House of Commons that some of the refugees have been returning for holidays to the countries they have been “fleeing”.
It is high time the UN rule that a refugee must claim asylum in the first safe country he/she reaches was strictly enforced.
