How lucky we are to have a wonderful new Forest and Sandridge School in Melksham, but how disappointing that both I and the school are already getting complaints that some parents are blocking the Cranesbill Road area when dropping and picking up their children.

I could understand parents driving to the school at its former site, as it was a highly dangerous road. But this isn’t the case on the new site.

Is there any reason for anyone to drive to the new school, after all many of the children live within walking distance? And in the last few weeks Wiltshire Council have laid a new footway from Ingram Road to the school to ensure that children and parents had a safe route to school.

Can I make a plea that if parents are driving to Forest and Sandridge School when they could walk, that they give consideration to the residents living around the school and, more importantly, the safety of their children.
