After nearly a decade another eyesore is being removed and what a difference it makes. Now we have only the old library site needing to be demolished and the sooner the better, however we do not want these sites turning out to be vast open spaces of rubble like the former Bowyers site and the former district council offices site on Bradley Road.

When we have people on the housing list needing homes these sites should have houses on them. The former district council offices would benefit us all on the North Bradley side of town to have a frozen food store. We struggle out here for frozen food and fresh products. Our closest shops are the Yarnbrook garage or the shop on Silver Street Lane as the rest do not do fresh food.

The way Trowbridge is now expanding we do require more leisure and more variety for people to release their daily stress. With our green fields slowly turning into houses we have seen Trowbridge double in size and with that the roads have had no improvements on traffic management for now a decade. When you see County Way full and going back onto Bradley Road you realise someone has not added cars and congestion to the equation.

It is easy to build but to build to not affect people’s present way of lives is often forgotten. With buildings comes demand and with demand comes congestion. The way Trowbridge is expanding it will soon require its own bus service as the one at present does not give a level of service that covers everywhere a bus could go.

Some places do not have a bus service after 6pm and others not until 9.40am. Some areas do not have a bus service at all on a Sunday. We need to get people out of their cars but we also need to deliver a bus service to the areas to encourage people to leave their cars at home. At present it is either a long walk home or a taxi .

This is something our council leaders needs to tackle and they are presently not catering for the blind and the vulnerable like we as a country should be.
