HOW wonderful to see in the Wiltshire Times that the skate park is appreciated so much by the local young people in Trowbridge, even though they may suffer a few bumps and bruises whilst enjoying the facility.

We hope that Charlie is able to return to the park soon and continues to enjoy the Trowbridge skatepark with his friends.

The skate park at Stallards recreation ground is provided by Trowbridge Town Council and we are now working with the young people to develop plans for an extension and improvement to it.

We are also aware that the community at Paxcroft Mead have plans to develop a new skate park facility for the east of Trowbridge, close to The Mead school.

This area of Paxcroft Mead is currently in Hilperton parish and the land is owned by Wiltshire Council.

The town council has suggested that part of Paxcroft Mead to the south of the A361 Hilperton Drive should all be in the Trowbridge town boundary.

If this was the case then the town council would be able to transfer the land from Wiltshire Council and would have the resources to support funding for the skate park.

The town council also believes that other revisions to the town boundary should be made so that Trowbridge has one town council for all of the town.

We would then have the capacity to continue to deliver other improvements to our parks and play grounds.

Trowbridge Town Council asks you to support all of the changes proposed by us by completing the survey online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/communitygovernancereviewsurvey2015.htm and attending the public meeting at County Hall on Tuesday, October 13 at 6pm.
