MAY I update the situation regarding my letter pointing out that ‘Common Agriculture Policy’ (CAP) was funding the bull fighting entertainment industry in Southern Europe.

The EU Commission have voted to no longer fund this cruel form of entertainment, which was to the tune of £110m a year, £13.5m coming from the UK. So may I thank all those who campaigned and MPs and MEPs who made this decision and the Wiltshire Times for printing the letter.

One sad thing, though. The bullfighting lobby – despite more and more regions banning bullfighting – have started a campaign to have bullfighting taught in schools as culture, rather like us teaching blood sports in our schools.
