WITH so much animosity shown to refugees by large sections of the media and by much of society, it was most pleasing to see the picture and report (in support of refugees), Wiltshire Times, January 22, in which residents of Codford raised £680 for Syrian refugees.
As we are aware these refugees are making the most perilous journeys across the Mediterranean, sailing in anything they view as being seaworthy.
Unfortunately, with the bombs still dropping and bullets still being fired, many more Syrians will continue to make the journey and sadly many more will lose their lives in the cruel sea of the Med.
