Personally, I’d rather families across the land weren’t being driven to depend ever more heavily on charities by shrinking public services. In her column Ms Donelan expresses “grave concerns that pressure will come to find even greater savings”.
Another 40 per cent is to be cut from Wiltshire Council spending over the next four years. But why the concern? It is Tory policy that the cost of the banking crisis should be met entirely by public sector cuts. The party of the rich are protecting their own.
