AT NORTH Trowbridge the Staverton, Hammond Way/Canal and the new Hilperton Gap roads can be considered as one which could be joined to Brook Road by a new road across Mary Down and parallel to Innox Road and connect to Staverton at its traffic lights.

At the Wingfield Road end of Brook Road, Studley Green, Lambrok and Church Roads could be extended to join the A361 so as to then pass through Southwick Court and then join the A363 Spitfire Retail Park roundabout via another new short road.

Then continuing this plausible ring road the Drynham Lane could be made into a proper road so as to join the West Ashton road. Only one more new short road would be needed to join the Ashton Road by crossing the Green Lane. This would be considered very necessary to avoid the Leap Gate housing estate.

Hence with this road, a complete ring road around Trowbridge could be built because of course the Ashton Road joins the A361 at Hilperton which in turn now joins the Hilperton Gap road etc.

This means only four new short roads are needed for this very plausible ring road if only as in effect a single carriageway. But obviously it is probably worth 1,000 miles more than having nothing at all in respect of this currently for traffic relief in central Trowbridge.
