THIS June will see the first of the Sleep Rough events to be organised by Breakthrough Trowbridge, ably assisted and support by the Trowbridge Lions Club. Please join us to help to raise funds and make other people aware of the scandal of homelessness in our county town of Trowbridge and surrounding area.

Be among the first to bring hope and love to those who are much less fortunate than ourselves and who also have little or no other opportunity than to sleep rough whatever the weather is like.

We need to purchase a building in which we can offer our service users hot drinks and food, recreation along with a short time of warmth, support and advice about their problems ie housing, health matters, what help can be given for their addictions and many other things.

If you wish to know more about our aspirations, come to the centre any Monday and Tuesday between 10am-1pm.

Sleep Rough will take place on June 3 at the Salvation Army in Castle Street in aid of the Breakthrough Drop in Centre. All the sponsorship money will be used to help alleviate homelessness in our town and area and we need your help to help us to achieve this. Once more I emphasise that all the money will be used for their enterprise alone, none of it will be used for any form of administration, even the staff are all volunteers which includes the managerial staff.

We rely on your donations to keep our centre going and every penny you raise will go towards supporting someone in desperate need.

It will probably help if you set a realistic minimum target of £100. Go to the Virgin Money giving website at uk.virginmoneygiving.com and search for Breakthrough Trowbridge for a registration form.

You can bring sponsorship money along on the night or send a cheque or bring cash to Breakthrough Trowbridge in Castle Street.
