ON Saturday evening I attended James Gray’s session in Box on why he feels we should leave the EU. For every doubt that was expressed by members of his audience he replied with the retort that it will all be alright after a few weeks of financial turbulence.

The thought that came to my mind was that of the generals who in 1914 said “don’t worry, it will all be over by Christmas”.

The only comment that I found myself agreeing with him on, was when he said: “None of us can foretell the future, who knows, maybe Brian Mathew will win the next General Election”. Well, for that I will say, “Amen and bring it on.”

If we vote to leave we will not only have a terrible hangover on June 24, but it will last for a long, long time and our children and grandchildren and indeed the world will suffer. We would shortly see a little England rather than a Great Britain, as the Scots would most surely leave the UK, and where then will Great Britain’s voice be on the world stage, to help steer all nations to be better tomorrow? It will have gone and all of us will be the poorer for it. I’m for a Britain stronger in Europe.

For the future and for all of us, please join me and make a better world by voting remain on June 23.
