WITH the referendum choices to Leave or Remain membership of the European Union, now only days away, it does well to review statements from sources other than those of political persuasions.

One constant complaint of pamphlets or debates via mail, press or broadcast bulletins so far has been, where are the facts? Well, a good place to review and cross-check some of the gross claims, backtracking and reversals of many of the statements of various groups or attributed to individuals, ministers and the Prime Minister himself, would be a search through the internet for CIVITAS studies, reports and reviews.

The content presents a wealth of information on all the main topics of discussion in the general media. The data is clearly presented, a background of reasoning and research is laid out and valid comparisons are made for the subjects in each category.

Most of the conclusions are presented separately; sources are clearly stated. In most cases the material can be downloaded for study at individual convenience. This provides relief from the screaming, caterwauling accusations and lack of substance within opposing viewpoints. If these are educated professionals’ offerings in debate, then it would suggest that they have nothing to substantiate any force of argument or informed study. Oh! Yes, of course, they are mainly politicians!

The CIVITAS search items can be selected from: CIVITAS + referendum. These present a wealth of subjects, authors and, above all, FACTS.
