I NOTICE this morning that Courtfield House is still on the market.
The property, dating from 1754, is a vital asset to Trowbridge and I urge the Town Council and Wiltshire Council to work together to find some way of buying the building for the people of Trowbridge, either through the Public Works Loan Board or some other method.
Perhaps the building could be used as an open-air museum to showcase life in 18th Century Trowbridge, at a time when the town was a powerhouse of industry, leading to being termed ‘the Manchester of the West’.
There is huge potential for the building and its land, but it must first be saved for the people of Trowbridge.
