REGARDING the report on June 24 about two cats being attacked, surely this is a cowardly and cruel attitude towards another species. Some of it is down to the demonising of cats by such as the BBC’s Today programme. This is a negative attitude and only gives the cruel, ignorant people an excuse to inflict suffering on another species, and has nothing to do with concern for song birds, as implied by many.
As for those who blame cats for demise of song birds, do you garden/farm in a bird friendly way? Do you help the many charities which are trying to stop the irresponsible breeding of too many cats, or other pets? Are you responsible owners and have your cats neutered and keep them in at night or give a home to one from an animal charity, rather than breed more and not care for your pets properly? Many bird feeding, roosting and nesting habitats are being destroyed by human pastimes and practices.
If the answer is no, then it is obvious you are not really concerned about any other species but are just looking for an excuse for to work out your spite on some other creatures.
