FOR those people who perhaps are looking for a break from all the politics that have taken centre stage over the last few weeks, I can thoroughly recommend the exhibition at our local museum; the collection of Wiltshire’s story in 100 objects reflecting the history of Wiltshire, which is on show there only until July 16 when it will be moving elsewhere in the county.

There is something to interest everyone, star of the show being the Lacock Cup, which is worth a visit on its own. There is also a very well-produced glossy booklet featuring on the cover the iconic Moonrakers plate by potter Mary White from Malmesbury telling the legend of the Moonrakers’ smuggling of a keg of brandy in the local dialect. There are many other items which will be of interest to both visitors and locals.

The exhibition was made possible with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Arts Council of England and supported by Wiltshire Council and Devizes Town Council.
