Council is dictatorship and out of touch.

One leader, one opinion is not how a council should be saving money. For a council to be democratic it has to have people expressing their opinions and not in fear of losing their jobs.

At present the council logo of ‘Everyone Matters’ is basically we will hold a consultation but we shall do as we please. The council will issue you with a section 215 to keep your garden tidy but they can’t keep their own back yard tidy. They can spend millions on County Hall yet they can’t afford to cut the grass more than once a month. They keep knocking down buildings and leaving the sites derelict and have done more destruction to Trowbridge in the last few years than Hitler ever did. They charge you for your green bins and cut the recycling centres’ opening days and still they want more cuts.

The council needs two leaders, not one, and it needs to be democratic and open to change. The wages need capping and people wanting more than the prime minister just want sacking. I would do that job for £20,000 per year as I believe people matter and life is not about having a big fat wallet. However it needs to be democratic and new fresh options need to be found or we shall always be treading in stale waters.
