WHEN the good and the great councillors at County Hall next don their golden chains and velvet gowns and proudly gaze across the pristine lawns of County Hall, perhaps they could venture out to take a walk around the town. Let them wander freely through the filthy littered streets to some of the town’s historic highlights. Visit the ancient town bridge, move onto the listed bank building or pop their heads over the wall nearby.
Does it really cost that much to keep the county town clean? It is an absolute disgrace.
