I WAS watching a programme on George - the fifth in line to the throne, who was in youth somewhat erratic; the programme covered the pre and wartime world wars, Edward 7th and Hess and then Winston Churchill.
I then thought not many people alive today remember the period. I was a schoolboy but remember the patriotism and support for Churchill and our armed forces. My good mother was moved to tears by Winston Churchill’s speeches.
But we now know of support for Hitler and the Nazis in the upper classes and of course our National Socialist Party, so can’t draw attention to this.
Prince George was killed in a Sunderland flying boat crash in Scotland, he had a briefcase attached to his wrist; when Hess flew to Scotland, where Prince George was heading, it was said he acted alone, but perhaps it has not been noticed he had a two-hour closed meeting with Hitler before he took off.
Was Prince George assassinated by our Secret Service? Was there a plot to kill Winston Churchill and do a peace deal with Germany? Because of the link with the Royal family, has this been suppressed.
As I say, I remember the war, we were solidly behind Churchill and wished to destroy fascism, but this bit of history deserves investigation, don’t you think?
