Deal's streets ahead

I HAVE just returned from a lovely holiday in Deal, Kent – the streets were so clean – no chewing gum – no cigarette ends and almost no other litter. As I walked down the High Street I saw a shop owner vacuuming just outside of her shop. I asked why she was doing this and was She told me the High Street won the competition for the cleanest and best street two years before and since then, as it only took a few minutes each day, all the other shops did the same. What a good idea!
