Were you or your relatives blood donors or involved in collecting blood donations during the Second World War?
I am a postgraduate student at the University of Bristol carrying out research into the recruitment of blood donors by the Army Blood Transfusion Service based in Bristol during the war. The service recruited civilian donors in Berkshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset and Wiltshire I am seeking diaries, letters, photos, recollections or any other information about donors or those who worked in the Army Blood Supply Depot at Bristol, the blood plasma drying unit at Chilton Polden in Somerset and the mobile blood collection teams that operated throughout the region.
I am also interested in material relating to the voluntary services that supported their work during this period. If you have any information p Please email jb16951.2015@my.bristol.ac.uk by March 31, 2018, including ‘WW2 blood donation’ in the title.
