Two years ago you were kind enough to print and support an appeal letter from the Trowbridge Guild asking for volunteers, which produced four volunteers, one of whom died unexpectedly and another had to resign.
Since then, to ensure the future of this essential service, we need two more volunteers: one to shadow the current treasurer, the other to shadow me, and then both to take over.
The Guild is in a healthy state; it is firmly established in Andil House, we have two new buses, both fully equipped to carry disabled, elderly passengers; the finances are in a healthy state and we have an experienced administrator and an excellent team of drivers.
So these positions are there, in one case, for someone with a financial background, either recently retired or about to retire and in the other, with someone who likes to give a lead and support the working team.
Neither position is onerous and anyone interested will work with an established, united team, but if we are to continue to give our elderly, frail and vulnerable citizens outings they need and love, then we must be able to guarantee the future of the Guild.
Anyone interested please contact me on 01225 753489, or johnandglayne@blueyonder.co.uk, when I am happy to give you more background and talk you through what is involved.
