Smart Parking is issuing people with penalty charge notices for not displaying a ticket, when the machines are out of order. On September 16 I parked in the M&S car park and both the machines were out of order. The machine nearest M&S had a piece of plain paper stuck on it, which had been half torn. The machine by Greggs just didn’t work and didn’t have anything stuck on it.
On October 9, I get home and am greeted with an £80 penalty charge notice.
I have been using the M&S Foodhall since it opened and always get a ticket (when the machines are working), and I doubly make sure I do after reading your article at the end of August.
