I am the Project Coordinator for Places of Welcome in Burton Upon Trent, I also met Maggie initially at the Library, where our first Place of Welcome opened, Maggie became a regular and valued member at all the various Places of Welcome in Burton. I have received many messages from friends she had made, expressing shock and sadness at the news of Maggie's passing, by all accounts she was a wonderful smart lady who bought intelligent conversation, stories and warmth to all that she met. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that she made some really meaningful connections in her last few months and she will be very much missed by many.
I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you, you will be in our thoughts and prayers as will Maggie.

I was a friend of Maggie's, having met her at the beginning of the year and thereafter every Tuesday at Burton Library, where we enjoyed weekly Places of Welcome meetings for a cuppa, biscuits and a chat. A group of other people would join us, and Maggie was extremely well-liked and respected by all of us. We had missed Maggie over the last few weeks, which was unusual, as she normally attended very regularly. After making enquiries, we were concerned that a lady matching Maggie's description had been found deceased at her home. (We did not actually know her address, just a rough idea about the area.) Now that we know the lady was indeed Maggie, we are shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic news.
Maggie was kind, thoughtful and generous, and we will all miss her very, very much. Our thoughts are with you at this time. Please do not hesitate to get in touch, should you wish to hear more about Maggie's Burton life.
So sorry, and will be thinking of you on 29th.
