Temporary Closure of Unnamed Road Between A354 and Winterborne Kingston
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the Unnamed Road between A354 and Winterborne Kingston an overall distance of approximately 3350 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 08:00 to 17:00 on 29th June 2020 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7th July 2020. The road will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
Clearways, indicated by signs on site, will be imposed on the road to prevent waiting or parking on the highway or verge in these locations. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed underthe provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Aggregate Industries UK Ltd is applying for planning permission for Temporary planning permission is sought for an extension to Chard Junction Quarry at Westford Park Farm for the winning and working of approximately 930,000 tonnes of sand and gravel with progressive restoration to agriculture and nature conservation, inclusive of a new internal haul road and the retention of the existing mineral processing facilities and silt lagoons for a period of seven years.

Dorset Council proposes to make an Amendment Order to 'The Borough of Weymouth and Portland (Waiting Restrictions) (Consolidation) Order 2011' under relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act') and under Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with statutory requirement and in compliance with The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting at anytime along a section of Dorchester Road, Weymouth.
Relevant exemptions will apply where appropriate and as necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Order. Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order together with a plan showing the length of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, it is not possible for Dorset Council to have documents on deposit for people to view at County Hall.
