Temporary Closure of Rochester Road, Taunton
Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Rochester Road - from the junction with Dorchester Road, north-eastwards for a total distance of 119 metres. This Order will enable Engie to carry out works related to the Taunton Regeneration Scheme.
The Order becomes effective on 17th March 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 23rd March 2022 and last until 10th May 2022 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 49 days. Please visit
