Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 The County of Wiltshire (Silverless Street, Marlborough) (Prohibition of Entry) Experimental Order 2016 Modification Order 2017
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Modification Order on 5 January 2017 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Experimental Order I has a maximum duration of 18 months (from 1 February 2016) and during that time consideration will be given to introducing a permanent Order. The effect of the Modification Order will be to modify The County of Wiltshire (Silverless Street, Marlborough) (Prohibition of Entry) Experimental Order 2016 to add an exemption into the Order for pedal cycles making the Order a prohibition of entry (except pedal cycles) in to Silverless Street from A346 Herd Street, A346 Barn Street and St Martins. Deposit copies of the Order, plan and the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Experimental Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, I Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Marlborough Library, 91 High Street, Marlborough between the hours of 2pm - 7pm Monday, 9.30am - 5pm Wednesday and Friday, 9.30am - 7pm Thursday and 9.30am - 1pm Saturday for the duration of the objection period. Documents can also be viewed online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/council/troconsultations.htm Wiltshire Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order (with modification) should be continued in force indefinitely. Objections to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation should be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made, quoting reference HKB/TRO/MARLExp:

(a) within a period of six months beginning with the day on which the Experimental Order came into force; or

(b) if that Order is verified by another Order or modified pursuant to Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, within a period of six months beginning on the day on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification came into force.

Any person aggrieved by the Experimental Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule had not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 23 January 2017.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic to carry out carriageway reconstruction, surface dressing and road markings: (a) B4040 (Part) Brook Hill/High Street/Church Street/Easton Town, Sherston; from a point approximately 70m west of its junction with Grove Road in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 2.2km (to a point adjacent to Pinkney Mill, Pinkney). Alternative route via B4040 Luckington Road/Sherston Road/The Street - Acton Turville -C71 - A46 - A433 - B4014 (Malmesbury) - C68 Tetbury Hill/Gloucester Road - B4040 Bristol Road/Bransdown Hill/Easton Town (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 6 February 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required daily between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00 for two days; (b) B4040 (Part), Charlton Road/The Street/Perry Green, Charlton; from its junction with C81 Noahs Ark in an easterly direction to a point approximately 150m east of its junction with C98 Vicarage Road. This Order will come into operation on 6 February 2017 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required daily between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00 for two days.
